This tutorial will guide you how to install and use Celeste on iPhone 4 iOS 4.3.3.
Added:
After performed above steps, you'll notice an update notification of BTstack in Cydia. DO NOT UPDATE IT. If you would like to remove the notification, simply follow steps here. Just search for "btstack" in step 4 and change "0.3-434" to "0.4-434" in step 5.
Updated 20 Sept 2011:
Someone mentioned above method works for his iPod 3rd Generation on iOS 4.2.1. If your iDevice succeeded in sending/receiving via bluetooth after above method, please leave a comment and state your iDevice/iOS version. Thanks :)
- Add source "www.sinfuliphonerepo.com" in Cydia.
- Search for "Celeste Bluetooth File Sharing" in sinfuliphone repo.
- Download and install all required dependencies as well as the application itself.

ReplyDeletehi..new iphone 4 owner. already jaibreak with cydia butneed to unlock i think. cos my maxis card is not detected.
ReplyDeletecarrier still show AT&T, ver 4.3.3 fw 03.10.01
can you help ?
TQ
@Life's Challenge
ReplyDeleteErmm.. sorry to tell you that there is no unlock for your iPhone 4 just yet (and possibly never).
I can receive files but I can't send files.
ReplyDelete@anonymous not all device suport to send/recieve item from iPod with celeste...
ReplyDeletesome example,
i can send/recieve item from iPod to nokia E63
but i only can recieve file but i can't send file from iPod to nokia X2
i followed ur guide to the letter.
ReplyDeletethe downgrade from v1170 to v434 was successful via iFile.
i tried transferring a photo to a nokia phone.
the iPhone even detected the nokia phone but it just says 'connecting' and the transfer never starts.
it stays that way until i turn off the bluetooth on the nokia phone.
I've tried to receive a photo too from the nokia phone and it says 'unsuccessful' in 2secs on the nokia phone.
I'm able to transfer files from the nokia phone to other phones and i also tried a samsung phone.
both had the same behavior.
now when i installed 'celeste bluetooth file sharing cracked' from sinfuliphone repo, it only installed the celeste app coz the dependencies were already installed.
so i have the following apps and their versions installed:
celeste (v0.9.0-218)
action menu (v1.2.3)
btstack (v0.3-434)
btstack keyboard demo (v1.0-24939)
also, i don't see either celeste or btstack in settings.
and i don't enable celeste in sbsettings.
if i do that, the touchscreen disables partially.
by partially, i mean swiping the status bar doesn't work anymore, and most of the icons on the springboard don't respond.
i can't even swipe to different pages or goto spotlight.
only after several attempts by double-clicking the home button i could bring up the multitasking dock.
from there i can only think of going to sbsettings and again disabling the celeste toggle.
once the celeste toggle is disabled, the touchscreen and iPhone functions normally again.
plz help coz i really want celeste to start working and I've been trying for months to get it working.
i have a factory unlocked iPhone 4 running iOS 4.3.3 and jailbroken using redsn0w rc16
thanx, in advance.
@yohu123, Hmm your case seems weird, your device is exactly the same as mine, but it did work on mine. I'm not sure what is the exact cause, but I could only suggest you to try uninstall celeste and all its dependencies, then do a reinstall. Remember to reboot (not respring) twice after the installation.
ReplyDeleteCheers :)
For some reason, whenever i hold down a song in the iPod, the only thing that comes up is "copy" and "upgrade". There is no send button! I followed the guide step by step and have an iPhone 4 running 4.3.3 Any help would be greatly appreciated!
ReplyDeleteTrying your guide now. I suggest you to update your guide that from Sinful Repo the Celeste version is 0.9.0-218.
ReplyDeleteTried your guide now. I can only receive files & cannot send any, either from iFile or Photo App. When I select the sending file, it detects the receiver phone, but connection never establishes.
ReplyDeleteAny instructions to sending files ? Any help would be appreciated :)
Sending files from iPod.app is not supported in this version...

I just tried this on my 4.3.3 Ipad 2. Transfer failed. Any ideas? Changed plist to 4.3.1 as per other hacks. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure whether this works on iPad 2. And my method doesn't require you to modify plist file.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why mine only can send/receive photos, I can receive songs, but can't send music/video, the option never shows. Action menu only shows "copy" as the first option instead "send". Can you pls help? I've tried over and over many times. using ipod 4G, ios 4.3.3 JB
ReplyDeleteThat is normal.
ReplyDeleteThis version of Celeste/Action Menu does not support sending in iPod app.
How do i install btstack using ifile please?
ReplyDeleteDownload the .deb file from my post then put it in your device. Then from iFile, navigate to the file and press, select Installer then it will be installed
ReplyDeletei have downloaded it on my pc,and i have iphone explorer,im just not sure where to put the file on the phone. Also when i download celeste from the source you say,it comes with btstack already.Do i need to install yours aswell? Thanks
ReplyDeleteCan put anywhere on the phone, as long as you can find it in iFile and install it.
ReplyDeleteYes, install the one downloaded here and replace the one installed with Celeste.
ok thanks,i try to see if i can do it.I notice that activator is installed with celeste from the source, can i uninstall activator or do i have to keep it on my phone.?
ReplyDeleteNo don't uninstall it. You'll need it to activate SBSettings and then enable Celeste from SBSettings menu.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Activator is really an awesome tweak for Jailbroken phone. You should explore how to fully utilize it :)
Ok thanks. So i did what you said and when i clicked installer it said done. Now when i go into settings on my phone, the option that was there before under btstack has dissappeared.I am also able to send a photo to another phone via bluetooth but when i try to send something to my iphone ,the other device will not connect. It only works one way
ReplyDeletei also have no "send" option in action menu
ReplyDeleteHey hq,after following your instructions i have the opposite problem to kathrick.I can send files but not recieve them.I tried a different version of celeste and when i installed that it gave me options in settings to turn on the option to recieve. This version on here doesnt seem to have that option and it doesnt appear in my settings. Can you help me please mr hq
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is the version of Celeste I'm putting here is older version, and frankly speaking is quite buggy. Some people manage to send/receive, some only able to send, some only able to receive, while some unable to do both.
ReplyDeleteMyself had already updated my firmware to 5.0.1. Thus I can't test on this thing anymore.
it looks like i will never have bluetooth on my iphone.stupid apple.A great phone ruined by one simple basic thing like bluetooth
ReplyDeleteworking ... tested on 3gs with N82 ... send and recieve photo ... thx man
ReplyDelete3gs 4.3.3
ReplyDeleteinstalled the latest action menu via Cydia, then followed OP's instructions and the image transfer to nokia 6233 worked fine. tried different versions, but only this blog helped.
Cannot figure out how to receive files though.. the other phones seem not to see the iphone's bluetooth and there are no Celeste settings in the settings menu.
